hAsaM kurvatsu teShvevaM keshavaH keshisUdanaH |
uvAcha vachanaM dUtaM gachCha madvachanAddvija ||3-116-1
vaishampAyana said:
(O janamejaya!) As all of them were laughing, keshava (kR^iShNa), the slayer
of keshi, spoke these words to the messenger (janArdana): "O
twice born! Go and tell my words".
tAvitthaM haMsaDimbhakau brUhi tvaritavikramaH |
bANairdAsyAmi nishitaiH shAr~NgamuktaiH shilAshitaiH ||3-116-2
asinA vAtha dAsyAmi nishitena mahAtmanoH |
"Quickly go and tell (my words to) the valiant haMsa and Dimbhaka:
I shall answer those great souls with sharp arrows sharpened on the
grinding stone, released from the bow shAr~Nga or with a sharp sword.
shiro vA Chetsyate chakraM matkaraprahitaM balim ||3-116-3
Or, the chakra released from my hand will provide the sacrifice by cutting
off their heads.
yo varaM dattavAnrudro yuvayordhArShTyakAraNam |
sa eva rakShitA vAM syAttaM jitvA vAM nihanmyaham ||3-116-4
The boon given by rudra (shiva) to both of you is the reason for your
audacity. Even if he protects you, I shall conquer you and kill you.
desho yaM saMvidhAtavyo yatra naH sa~Ngatirbhavet |
tatra gantA tathA chAsmi sabalaH sahavAhanaH ||3-116-5
The place for our meeting should be decided. I shall go there along with
my army and carriages.
bhavantau nirbhayau bhUtvA gachChetAM sabalau nR^ipau |
puShkare vA prayAge vA mathurAyAmathApi vA ||3-116-6
O kings! Becoming fearless, you shall also reach puShkara, prayAga or the
city of mathura (the meeting place) along with your army.
tatrAhaM sabalo yAtA nAtra kAryA vichAraNA |
atha vA mitrabhAvAchcha vaktumevaM na te kShamam ||3-116-7
I shall reach there along with my army. There is nothing else to be thought
on this. Or else, you may not be able to speak thus (to haMsa and Dimbhaka)
due to your friendship.
na shakyaM yattvayA vaktuM tachcha vakShyati sAtyakiH |
tvayA saha tato gatvA sAkShibhUto bhava dvija ||3-116-8
sAtyaki will speak, what you are unable to speak. He will go there along with
you. O twice born! You will be a witness.
idaM cha jAne viprendra sneho mama sadA tvayi |
O the indra of brahmins! I know that you are always having love for me.
tena tvaM vijayI bhUtvA saMsAre duHkhasa~Nkule |
matkathAparamo nityaM sadA bhava janArdana ||3-116-9
Due to that, you shall conquer the material world full of sorrow. O janardAna!
You may live, telling my story always.
