yashodA nandagopashcha kR^iShNadarshanalAlasau |
govardhanagataM shrutvA vAsudevaM sahAgrajam ||3-130-1
vaishampAyana said:
(O janamejaya!) Hearing that vAsudeva (kR^iShNa) has arrived at govardhana
along with his elder brother (balarAma), yashoda and nandagopa, eagerly
longing to see kR^iShNa,
navanItaM cha dadhi cha pAyasaM kR^isaraM tathA |
vanyam puShpaM mahArAja mayUrA~Ngadameva cha ||3-130-2
took fresh butter, thick sour milk, food made with rice and sugar, a dish
made of sesamum and grain and wild flowers, O great king,
(janamejaya! vaishampAyana continued) and also bracelets made of peacock
feathers,
ballavairaparaiH sArdhaM gopibhishcha samantataH |
jagmatuH sahasA prItau govardhanamatho nR^ipa ||3-130-3
accompanied by cowherds and cowherd-women, O king (janamejaya! vaishampAyana
continued), highly pleased, immediately went to govardhana.
kvachidvR^ikShe samAsaktaM kR^iShNaM kR^iShNamR^igekSnaNaM |
dadarshaturmahAbAhuM vAsudevaM sahAgrajam ||3-130-4
They saw kR^iShNa, vAsudeva, having great arms, having eyes as wide as
the deer's eyes, along with his elder brother (balarAma) sitting below a
tree, leaning on it.
praNematuH susaMhR^iShTau tatra dR^iShTvA mahAbalau |
darshayAmAsaturdevau pAyasAni mahAnti cha ||3-130-5
Seeing kR^iShNa and balarAma, they became highly pleased. The powerful
kR^iShNa and balarAma bowed to them. Then they offered the food made with
rice and sugar and other items to the deva-s.
tAta mAtarvraje goShThe kushalaM vA svagodhanam |
api gAvaH kShIravatyo vatsA vatsatarAH pitaH ||3-130-6
(kR^iShNa said) O father! O mother! Are your wealth of cattle at vraja
well or not? O father! Are the cows giving you good milk or not?
Are the calves and the bulls well or not?
api vA sushubhaM kShIramapi gAvaH sushobhanAH |
api vA dArakA mAtarvatsapAlAH pibanti cha ||3-130-7
Is the milk good or not? Are the cows auspicious or not? Are the calves
drinking their mother's milk or not?
bahUni chApi dAmAni kIlakA api vA bahu |
tR^iNAni bahurUpANi kiM vA santi pitaH sadA ||3-130-8
Are you not keeping lots of ropes and posts? O father! Is there good grass
available in plenty?
shakaTAni sugandhIni kiM vA santi pitardhruvam |
api gopyaH putravatyo dArakAnkimajIjanan ||3-130-9
Are there carts with fragrance? Have the cowherd women given birth to
children?
ghaTAH kiM bahavo mAtarabhinnAH sarvato vraje |
kiM gAvaH kShIramatulaM sravantyaharahaH pitaH ||3-130-10
O mother! Are there lots of pots in vraja which are unbroken?
O father! Are the cows giving you plenty of milk?
haiya~NgavInaM kShIrANi dadhi vA kimajIjanan |
godhanaM sarvamevedaM nIrogaM pratipadyate ||3-130-11
Are you not getting good milk, butter and sour milk? Are all the cattle
wealth without any disease?
nanda uvAcha
sarvametadyadushreShTha nIrogaM bahushaH prabho |
kushalaM godhanasyaiva sarvakAleShu keshava ||3-130-12
nanda said:
O the best among yAdava-s (kR^iShNa)! All the cattle wealth are without any
disease, O lord! O keshava (kR^iShNa)! All the cattle wealth are well.
rakShaNAttava devesha sadA kushalino vayam |
sagodhanAH savatsAshcha nIrogA iva keshava ||3-130-13
O the Lord of gods (kR^iShNa)! Because of your protection, we are always
well. O keshava (kR^iShNa)! The cattle wealth along with the calves are
without any disease.
ekameva sadA duHkhaM na tvAM drakShyAmi keshava |
yadetatkevalaM duHkhamiti dhIH shIryate sadA ||3-130-14
We always have only one sorrow: O keshava (kR^iShNa)! We are unable to see
you. This only one sorrow is always breaking our minds.
vaishampAyana uvAcha
evamAdi vilapyantaM gachChetyAha sa keshavaH |
yashodAM punarAhedaM mAtargachCha gR^ihaM prati ||3-130-15
vaishampAyana said:
(O janamejaya!) keshava (kR^iShna) said to nanda who was lamenting thus:
Do not lament. Go home. Then he told yashoda: Mother! Go home.
ye cha tvAM kIrtayiShyanti te cha svargamavApnuyuH |
ye kechittvAM namasyanti te me priyatarAH sadA ||3-130-16
All those who recite your names shall go to heaven. Those bowing to you will
always be most dear to me.
madbhaktAH sarvadA santu gachChetyAha cha tAM hariH |
ityuktvA pitarau devo vAsudevaH sanAtanaH ||3-130-17
hari (kR^iShNa) continued: They will always be my devotees. Go home. The
eternal lord vAsudeva (kR^iShNa) told thus to the parents.
gADhamAli~Ngya tau prItau preShayAmAsa keshavaH |
yashodA nandagopashcha jagmatuH svagR^ihaM prati ||3-130-18
Embracing the parents tightly, keshava (kR^iShNa) made them happy and then
bid farewell to them. Afterwards, nandagopa and yashoda went home.
tataH kR^iShNo hR^iShIkesho yAdavaiH saha vR^iShNibhiH |
gantumaichChattadA viShNuH purIM dvAravatIM kila ||3-130-19
Then viShNu, kR^iShNa, the lord of senses, along with yAdava-s and
vR^iShNi-s got ready to go to the city of doors.
ya etachChruNuyAnnityaM paThedvApi samAhitaH |
putravAndhanavAMshchaiva ante mokShaM cha gachChati ||3-130-20
Those who hear this daily as also those who study this with attention,
shall become wealthy and be blessed with children and attain liberation in
the end.
